MISSION AND VALUES
Where we stand.
We exist because people of every age and background carry real, sophisticated questions about faith, reason, and culture — and too often they’re met with slogans instead of substance.
Our conviction is simple: questions don’t need answers, but people do, and they use questions to get to them. So we try to meet the person behind the question, with rigor and with respect.
What follows is what we believe and how we intend to carry it — our statement of faith, and the values we hold ourselves to when we speak, write, and answer.
That shapes how we work. We would rather sit with a hard objection than deflect it, rather lose an argument honestly than win one cheaply. The aim is not to be unanswerable. It is to be worth trusting.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
What we hold to be true, stated plainly and without hedging.

God
We believe in God, who is necessarily and eternally existent, having no beginning and no end, who created all things, and who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and wholly good.

The Trinity
There is only one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — who are coequal and co-eternal.

Jesus Christ
In Christ, God the Son took on human nature, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived in perfect obedience and voluntarily paid the price for sin by dying on the cross, and He rose again.

Humanity
Humanity is created in God’s image and likeness but lives in a sinful condition. Every human being has objective, intrinsic value regardless of human opinion.

Redemption
God has acted sovereignly to bridge the gap that separates people from himself. Redemption is solely a work of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible
The Holy Spirit is the author of all Scripture. The Bible is the sole source of authority for Christian belief, morality, and practice.

The Church
The church is comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and who strive to imitate Christ and carry out God’s will in the world.

These are the commitments we hold ourselves to when we speak, write, and answer.
We answer people, not just questions
A question is a doorway. Behind it stands a person carrying something — doubt, curiosity, grief, or hope. We try to honor the person the whole way through, and never treat them as a position to be defeated.
Rigor is a form of respect
Taking someone’s objection seriously means actually studying it. We would rather sit with a hard question for a decade than hand back an answer that only sounds good. Graduate-level seriousness, offered plainly.
Gracious speech
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer each person.” We take that as a working instruction, not a decorative sentiment. Nothing combative, dismissive, or snide.
Not a culture war
We are not here to score points or rally a side. Winning an argument and persuading a person are different achievements, and only one of them is our business.
Honesty about hard things
Some passages are difficult. Some questions do not resolve neatly. We would rather admit the difficulty and keep working than pretend it away — the credibility of the gospel does not require us to bluff.
The whole person, mind and heart
Reason and warmth are not rivals. We refuse the choice between being intellectually serious and being genuinely kind, because the people we meet are never only one or the other either.
