Statement of Faith

We believe in God, who is necessarily and eternally existent, having no beginning and no end, who created all things, is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent.

We believe in the Trinity. There is only one God, eternally existing in the three distinct persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are coequal, co-eternal, and together are the one God.

We believe in Jesus Christ. In Christ, God the Son, the eternal second person of the Trinity, took on human nature, and was miraculously conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. As only he could, Jesus lived in perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross in our place. Following his death, Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. Jesus will return to earth to judge the living and the dead.

We believe that humanity is created in God’s image and likeness but lives in a sinful condition. Every human being is intentionally made by God and bears his image and likeness in that humans have rational, moral, relational, and spiritual aspects. As such, each human being has objective, intrinsic value regardless of human opinion or cultural fashion. Through Adam and Eve, the human race rebelled against God. Humanity’s resultant sinful condition separates humanity from its holy Creator. Because of this original sin, humans are incapable of justifying themselves before God and are therefore in need of a savior if they are to enjoy God’s presence in eternity.

We believe in redemption and justification. We believe God has acted sovereignly to bridge the gap that separates people from himself. He sent his Son to bear the full penalty for humanity’s sin. Jesus demonstrated himself to be God in that he was born of a virgin, performed miracles, and led a sinless life. Jesus Christ suffered and died in the place of sinners. By dying on the cross in our place, Jesus satisfied both divine justice and divine mercy, thereby bringing salvation to all who put their trust in Jesus and his finished work alone. Those who reject Christ and his work on the cross will spend eternity in the torment of being separated from God. Those who accept Christ will receive eternal communion with God and be rewarded for good works done in this life. The righteousness of Jesus Christ in perfectly fulfilling the law of God has been graciously credited to all believers. Redemption is solely a work of God’s grace, received exclusively through faith in Jesus Christ and never by works of human merit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the author of all Scripture and that he superintended the human writers as they penned the Word of God. The Bible is the sole source of authority for Christian belief, morality, and practice and there are no writings similarly inspired by God or similarly impactful.

We believe in the Church. The church is comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Empowered by and relying on the Holy Spirit, the church strives to imitate Christ and carry out God’s will. Parachurch and itinerant ministries are not meant to replace the church but to assist the church in carrying out God’s will in reaching the world with the gospel in both word and deed.
